Momo´s Wing -
the hiker Momo discovered it a few years ago,
but kept the place secret for a long time.
The hoodoo lid rises over 16 ft towards the south.
It is located in the northern area
of the Ah Shi Sle Pah Wilderness,
40 mi south of Farmington, New Mexico.

The best time to photograph is late afternoon.

Directions
From Farmington, take Hwy. 371 south about 42 mi.
At N36.09.49.3 - W108.08.56.6, junction 1,
about 8 mi past the Bisti entrance,
turn left onto Dirt Road 7650.
Follow this road for about 10 mi to
N36.12.19.6 - W107.59.14.5, junction 2.
Here, directly after a cattle stop, you turn right
towards the well visible windmill
in approx. 1000 yd distance.
Windmill at N36.11.32.6 - W107.59.13.3
The descent from Road 7650 to the wind turbine
requires a car with 4WD and HC -
the ruts are deeply rutted.
Don't worry - after the windmill the track becomes
much better!
We follow the jeep track to the left after the windmill,
which soon leads along a fence.
After 1000 yd we follow the 90° bend to the right.
Now it is one last 1000 yd to the
trailhead at N36.11.02.1 - W107.58.17.9

From here it is only a good 1000 yd walk to the KoW,
the trail through the Badland Hills is easy but spectacular !!!!
First we have to crawl through the pasture fence,
which goes particularly well at the timbers 50 yd further left.

Now keep going towards the point N36.10.47.6 - W107.58.12.1,
which is about 300 yd to the south.
There you turn right and go in a large arc about 800 yd to KoW.
which is on a small hill
.
